January 11, 2016
JUST IN: The BJP's fact-finding team, which had gone to assess the situation in violence-hit Malda, was stopped from going to Kaliachak and held at the Malda railway station.

The team, set up by BJP president Amit Shah, is headed by party national general secretary and member of Parliament Bhupender Yadav.

On January 3, a mob protesting against the alleged blasphemous comments by a right-wing leader had resorted to violence in Malda district during which a police station was also attacked.
