Turkey can still avoid Pakistanisation

'There was a time when Turkey used to be the role model for Pakistan. The Pakistani elites admired Turkey's modernity and 'westernisation', its growing prosperity and self-confidence as a regional power -- and its sheer elan. Even the Pakistani military elites had a weakness for Turkey's Pashas, given the affinity in regard of the military's supremacy as the 'powers that be' in that country's politics too.
