February 01, 2016

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has agreed to the suggestion of the Janata Dal United (JD-U) Executive Council to seek a Banyan Tree as the party's poll symbol. The party's symbol now is an arrow. There were complaints during the Bihar elections that the symbol did not attract many voters in villages. A petition from JDU to change the symbol is being filed with the election commission on Tuesday in New Delhi.
