CBI arrests 2 RBI staff in Bengaluru for Rs 1.99 cr note exchange

The CBI on Saturday arrested two RBI officials from Bengauluru in a matter related to unauthorised exchange of demonetised notes.

Senior Special Assistant Sadananda Naika and Special Assistant A K Kavin of cash department have been taken into custody in connection with the case.

The two have been arrested for alleged currency conversion of Rs 1.99 crore illegally post demonetisation.

This is the second arrest of RBI employees in the city.

Earlier on December 13, CBI had arrested an RBI official while he was allegedly trying to convert Rs 1.51 crore of old currency notes.
