December 06, 2016

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Rajaji Hall in Chennai to pay his last respects to Jayalalithaa.

Modi placed a wreath and paid tributes. Modi was seen comforting newly-elected Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

He also met Jayalalithaa's aide Sasikala.

In a series of tweets last night, the Prime Minister, who enjoyed a good personal equation with the late leader, had said that he was "deeply saddened at the passing away of Selvi Jayalalithaa. Her demise has left a huge void in Indian politics."
