The ashes of late Cuban leader Fidel Castro were taken today to be laid to rest at a cemetery in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

Capping a week of tributes and mass rallies for the former president who died at age 90, a jeep carrying the cedar urn with his remains entered the Santa Ifigenia cemetery as a crowd chanted 'viva Fidel!'
