Bangladesh's Rajshahi University professor AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee has been murdered within 50 metres of his residence on Saturday. Siddiquee, 58, was waiting for university transport at Battola intersection at 7:40 am when he came under attack, Sushanta Chandra Roy, assistant commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police said. Several persons swooped on Prof Siddique from behind with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured, he said.
