The accused were charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), Indian Penal Code, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosives Act, Explosive Substances Act, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, The Railways Act, and Passport Act.
