No tolerance, no diversity: President underscores message
October 19, 2015

President Pranab Mukherjee reiterated his message on the importance of tolerance, saying without it, India's civilisation could not have survived for 5000 years.

At a function in West Bengal's Siuri, the President said, "We celebrate diversity, we promote tolerance, we accept dissent... and if it wasn't there India's civilisation couldn't have survived for 5000 years and in any circumstances.' "We certainly can take a pledge that we save this diversity and won't let anyone spoil it," he added.
