Modi invites Nepal's new PM to visit India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to KP Sharma Oli and congratulated him on being elected as the PM of Nepal.

Modi has spoken to KP Oli and congratulated him on being elected as the prime minister of Nepal, a PMO statement said. During their conversation, he invited Oli to visit India, it said.

The telephonic conversation comes at a time when there is an unease in the relationship between two countries, since Nepal adopted a new Constitution. Oli, a veteran politician and CPN-UML chairman, was today elected as the 38th PM of Nepal after defeating incumbent Sushil Koirala in a voting.
