The gunman has shot multiple victims including three police officers and barricaded himself inside the Planned Parenthood facility, according to the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police executive director, Mike Violette.

The condition of those injured is not yet known. Initial reports that a police officer had been killed were later reported to be unconfirmed. Police have instructed employees at the restaurant next to the building, Jun Jun Japanese, to stay indoors and out of sight.
