Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, BJD to support govt's land bill
March 10, 2015
Just in: The Shiv Sena, Akali Dal and the BJD have agreed to support the BJP on the land bill, NDTV reports.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vekaiah Naidu spoke to Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray. The NDA allies are unlikely to press for amendments, according to NDTV.
The government, looking for the support of other political parties for
its land reforms, has proposed nine amendments in its Land Acquisition
Bill which will be voted on in the Lok Sabha today. The changes that the government has proposed seek to incorporate those
suggested by other parties. Among them are amendments to ensure a better
mechanism for the redressal of grievances of those whose land is
acquired.
