Congress's Mani Shankar Aiyar has once again stirred controversy after stating that he was against the hanging of Afzal Guru. The Congress leader said, "I was very upset when he was hanged, as there wasn't any conclusive evidence," adding that he felt that a great injustice had taken place. Aiyar added that despite the government stating that his remains would not be returned, he was in favour of giving the family closure and handing over the remains.
