Cops hired 605 CCTV cameras for Obama's visit, R-Day, says report

The Delhi police had hired 605 CCTV cameras in January this year for security purposes during the visit of US President Barack Obama and the Republic day parade all of which have been removed, Lok Sabha was informed today.

An amount over Rs 1.36 crore was spent on hiring, installation and removal of these CCTV cameras. 


Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary said that the Delhi police has informed that 605 CCTV cameras were hired in connection with the visit of the US President as well as for the Republic Day arrangements, "All the CCTV cameras have been removed after the function. An amount of Rs 1,36,58,149 has been spent on hiring, installation and removal of these CCTV cameras," he said in a written reply.
