NSCN-K top leader behind Manipur ambush arrested

The National Investigation Agency has arrested a top leader of Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang. Khumlo Abi Anal was allegedly involved in the conspiracy behind the June 4 killing of 18 army personnel in Manipur on the Indo-Myanmar border. On June 4, a military convoy with 18 army personnel in Manipur's Chandel district was killed and 11 others were injured. A team of 6 Dogra Regiment was on a road opening patrol as part of its daily routine along Tengnoupal-New Samtal road, about 80 km from Imphal, when it was attacked first with a powerful Improvised Explosive Device.
