40 people, including members of Parliament and former judges have sent a petition to President Pranab Mukherjee to stop the execution of 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon. Memon is scheduled to be executed on July 30 after his curative petition against the death sentence was dismissed by the Supreme Court. His mercy petition was denied by the president too. Memon has submitted a mercy petition to the Maharashtra governor too.
