Heavy rains slow down Mumbai; Trains delayed, traffic slow
July 21, 2015

Seems like Monsoon is back with a bang in Mumbai. The metropolis has received heavy rains in the last 24 hours.

Tuesday morning's heavy showers have forced local train services on the Western line to stop while local trains in the central and Hourbour line were reported to be running 30 mins behind schedule.

Boisar and Palghar stations are reportedly under knee-deep water.

A holiday has been declared in schools and colleges in Thane (rural) district.

Traffic on the roads has also slowed down considerably.

Water logging has been reported in low-lying areas -- Vile Parle, Hindmata, King Circle, Wadala, Sion, Matunga, Mahim, Kurla and Dharavi.

The Khar subway is already flooded with knee deep water and traffic has been suspended.
