Singer, actor, theatre director, composer and lyricist Shekhar Sen has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. Sen has been appointed as for a term of 5 years with immediate effect.  He is famous for his mono-act musical plays "Tulsi',' Kabeer', "Vivekananda', "Sanmanti', 'Saahab' and "Soordas'.
