US President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama left for for India today.

The first couple boarded the president's personal plane, the Air Force One, from Andrews Air Base on early Saturday morning.

Obama will be attending the Republic Day celebrations as the official chief guest of India. Security has been heightened in light of his arrival.
