Sirisena, set to be next Sri Lanka prez, has 52 pc vote share

Sri Lanka's Opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena is expected to be declared winner by around 4,00,000 votes in the presidential elections.

With nearly a third of the ballots officially declared, Sirisena has 52.3 per cent of the vote and Rajapaksa 46.5 per cent, according to the Daily Mirror.

Rajapaksa left Temple Trees, after a discussion with the opposition leader this morning  assuring smooth transfer of power, the presidential media division said.
