Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he will be visiting Sri Lanka this march. "Modi's visit will be an honour for our country,"  Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said in a joint address with the PM.  
"As president of Sri Lanka, this is my first state visit and I selected India. There is a strong relationship between our nations. We were able to strengthen our friendship. We have already signed agreements on several subjects," he added.
