The Aam Aadmi Party's anti-corruption Jan Lokpal Bill was passed in the Delhi assembly today. The bill was cleared by an absolute majority.

Nine months after storming to power, the AAP government introduced the bill in the assembly last month, which provides for an ombudsman with powers to act against any government functionary, including those of the Centre, in the national capital through its own investigation wing.
