Modi calls for meeting with minister to take stock of situation in Chennai

PM Narendra Modi has called a meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu on to discuss the Chennai rains and ways to extend help to the troubled state.
The airport in Chennai will remain shut and over 10 trains have been cancelled owing to the torrential rains. Furthermore, armed forces and the NDRF have been called in to rescue stranded people.
