IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi 'seriously wounded' in air strike
April 21, 2015

The leader of Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been seriously wounded in an air strike in western Iraq, sources said. According to the report, Baghdadi suffered life-threatening injuries during an attack by the US-led coalition in March. However, the Islamic leader has made a slow recovery.

In October 2011, the US State Department had listed Baghdadi as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, and announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to his capture or death.
