Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has appointed former law secretary TK Viswanathan to head a committee to recommend innovative laws to combat bankruptcy. Jaitley in his budget speech made a commitment that before the 2015 Budget, the BJP government will bring a Bill before Parliament to alter the Bankruptcy Act enacted during the Colonial era.
