Russia calls on US to push Ukraine into halting military campaign

The administration of the Russian president is ready to release a recording of a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and European Commission President Jose Manul Barroso, Russia's envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said in a letter to Barroso on Tuesday.
"I am aware that the administration of the Russian President has both a written and audio recording of the telephone conversation in question and to clarify things is ready to release them if you do not inform [us] of your objections to the release in the next two days,' Chizov said.
