The Uttar Pradesh Trade Tax Department has imposed a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Patanjali Yoga Peeth for allegedly concealing tax on sale of goods here.

A fortnight ago, a truck loaded with ayurvedic medicines and goods of the Patanjali brand, owned by the trust run by yoga guru Ramdev, was intercepted by department officials and seized following which the action has been taken.
