Turkey has made the "administrative decision" to block access to YouTube, the semiofficial news agency Anadolu reported.

The announcement follows a Turkish government ban on Twitter that provoked widespread criticism, reports BBC.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who blames social media for fueling anti-government rhetoric, threatened to "eradicate" Twitter last week
