The Union home ministry on Tuesday announced that June 2 will be the foundation day of the new state.    

The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill has already been passed by the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. It has also received the requisite approval from President Pranab Mukherjee.
