LIVE! NO rollback on local train fare hike for Mumbaikars: Rail minister
June 24, 2014

Alright, bad news for Mumbaikars. There will be no relief in the over 100 per cent hike on railway passes. The meeting between NDA MPs and rail minister Sadananda Gowda is over and while Gowda said the demand of Mumbaikars to reduce the fare hike will be considered, there will be no immediate roll back.

So, while you pay over double for your pass now, the circumstances of your travel remain the same -- fans and lights that don't work, dirty trains, cockroach, bug-infested trains, signal failure after a few drops of rain, deaths after people fall of due to overcrowding. And of course, almost always behind time. Enjoy!
