US former secretary of state Hillary Clinton says that if the plane was shot down by a surface-to-air missile, as has been quite confidently suggested by US analysts, then "the equipment had to have come from Russia". She also called on the EU to increase sanctions against Russia, and join with the US in further supporting Ukraine.
