Six Maoists arrested in Jharkhand

Six wanted 'Maoists' were arrested from near Jharkhand-Odisha border in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, a top police official said today. The ultras including a 'platoon commander' and a 'section commander' were arrested last night, DIG (Kolhan) Md Nehal said, adding that they were wanted in connection with over a dozen offences including murder.

Based on the confession of the arrested ultras, security personnel seized several uniform, mobile phones and SIM cards, Nehal said. "We have also gathered vital clues regarding the activities of the ultra group and are working out strategy accordingly," he said.
