Lalu leaves court for jail, son says verdict a conspiracy
September 30, 2013
Convicted RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav leaves the Special CBI court. He will be taken to the Ranchi jail now. Hundreds of supporters shout slogans in his support. Lalu's son Tejaswi Yadav makes his first statement outside the court, saying, quite expectedly, that his father's conviction was a conspiracy and the family would appeal to a higher court. Tejaswi Yadav is being looked upon as the heir apparent to Lalu.
