Patna blasts' suspect Meher-e-Alam, who was detained by the NIA from Darbhanga on Wednesday, escapes from custody, say TV reports.

He was being questioned at a 'safe place' near Muzaffarnagar station and escaped when the NIA sleuths were asleep. He had been questioned for 10 hours and escaped from the washroom.  

The home minister gave the NIA charge of the blasts' probe at the behest of the Bihar CM.
