Legendary singer Manna Dey was cremated at Bangalore today, writes Rediff.com's Vicky Nanjappa.

The renowned singer died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Bangalore early this morning. The body which was kept at the Ravindra Kalakshethra till 12.30 pm and was taken to a crematorium in Hebbal.

However, the turnout at the funeral was just 70 people, with a many stars choosing to pay tributes on the social media.

Manna Dey's daughter refused to comment on the low turnout and denied telling the media that the government ought to have done more for her father.
