It is believed that Rahul and Sonia Gandhi have not interacted with President Pranab Mukherjee in recent times. They have bumped into each other at meetings and at state banquets, but have stopped short of having a one-on-one. Congress sources believe that that Sonia Gandhi is more dependent on Dr Manmohan Singh than on Pranab Mukherjee.
