Kashmir's winter continues to ast a chill elsewhere too

The cold wave tightened its grip further in Kashmir as the minimum temperatures in the Valley continue to remain several degrees below the freezing point, with the Met department predicting no respite from dry weather and the bone-chilling cold conditions till the end of this month. 

Residents across the valley continue to shiver with the night temperatures remaining below the freezing point and the days getting colder. The summer capital Srinagar recorded a low temperature of minus 3.2 degree Celsius, colder from the previous night's minus 1.8 degree Celsius, a spokesman of the Met department said. 

He said the minimum night temperature in the highway town of Qazigund in south Kashmir was minus 7.0 degree Celsius as against the yesterday's minus 6.4 degree Celsius.
