Earlier, BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh visit Lance Naik Hemraj's house near Mathura and meet the bereaved family. Hemraj's widow, mother and cousin are on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the government enable the return of the remains of the jawan's body.

The villagers are believed to be extremely angry at the incident and say they are upset with the government's overtures of peace -- Bollywood and cricket -- when the killings of jawans continue. The upside of this incident is that roads leading to this remote village of Kosi Kalan have been improved.
