No pharmacist, no medicines, say Mumbai chemists

More than 2,000 chemist shops in the city, including those licensed to operate 24 hours, are downing their shutters as early as 6 pm because of a standoff with the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). The bone of contention is the recent FDA rule that says all chemist shops must have a qualified pharmacist supervising the sale of medicines at all times. More
