February 07, 2013
Rahul Gandhi, who made his first public appearance in his parliamentary
constituency Amethi today after becoming the vice-president of the
Congress Party, said that the youth of the country need to be employed
properly.
Gandhi said he was aware of the fact that the youth in Amethi have a lot of problems. "There
is lack of employment opportunities. And in particular, the development
that should take place in Uttar Pradesh is not there and the youth here
are given enough employment opportunities. The Government in Delhi (UPA
Government) is yours and it is our endeavour to take this nation
forward," he added, while hitting out at the Akhilesh Yadav-led
Samajwadi Party (SP) Government in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the
gathering here amid slogans of ''yuvaon ne thana hai, Rahul ko PM
banana hai'' (Youth have resolved to make Rahul the Prime Minister),
Gandhi said the progress and development of the people of Uttar Pradesh
and in particular those of Amethi is there is his heart and mind.
"
I have to travel in the whole country, but when I come to Amethi it
feels like I have come home. Amethi is my family and home. So, I feel
extremely delighted when I come here. I know the youth here have a lot
of problems," he added.
