Will ensure protection for all girl band: Omar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday assured the first all-girl band from Kashmir that the state government would provide adequate security to them to protect them from the many fundamentalist elements which had slammed their performance.
However, Abdullah added that it was up to the band's members to decide whether they wanted to continue performing.
The all girls band had received wide-spread condemnation from various Islamic leaders in the Valley and conservative sections of the society after they performed at a music festival in Srinagar recently.
