Uttam Khobragade, the father of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade,has met home minister Sushilkumar Shinde. Home ministry assures him full government support so that the case against his daughter is withdrawn.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid says the government has conveyed its sense of disquiet to the US as a protest to treatment meted out to India's Deputy Consul General in New York. He said, "We take this case very seriously and our sense of outrage has been adequately conveyed to the US."
