Live! Mail Today apologises to Shanti Bhushan for carrying fake article
December 13, 2013
Sandeep Bamzai, editor Mail Today tweets: We have been had, our deepest apologies to Mr Shanti Bhushan whose purported article has been carried on our edit page this morning.
If you've just joined us, this is what happened: An op-ed piece purportedly written by Shanti Bhushan in Mail Today criticises Arvind Kejriwal and says the AAP
chief hid his political ambitions under the garb of the anti-corruption
movement.
Shanti Bhushan, a Supreme Court advocate and founding member of AAP
says he has not written it and that the article is forged. Speaking to
TV channels he said the BJP could be behind this and it was nothing
short of a political conspiracy against AAP.
Bhushan, if you recollect, donated Rs 1 crore to AAP.
This is what Bhushan had tweeted earlier today: "The article published in mail today not written by me..Hv filed the legal notice, will sue them."
Now, Mail Today editor, Sandeep Bamzai concedes that the article is not genuine and was not written by Bhushan.
