Sensex touches 21000 as exit polls predict BJP win

NDTV reports: The BSE Sensex surged over 450 points or 2 per cent today after exit polls predicted the Bharatiya Janata Party to emerge as the winner in four key state elections of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The 50-share Nifty jumped around 140 points to hit the key 6,300 levels, while the rupee also edged up to 61.76 per dollar.

As of 9.19 am., the Sensex traded at 21,147, while the Nifty traded 134 points higher at 6,295, the report said.
