BJP senior leader LK Advani says the party has given a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee asking for early polls. "I have suggested that the general elections be held early," he said.

Advani said the state of the economy is so that the government is unable to handle the situation and should therefore step down. He said early polls could be a way out to handle the crisis.
