RS resumes work after Rajeev Shukla intervenes
August 22, 2013
The Rajya Sabha, in turmoil over the BJP's insistence that the prime minister make a statement on the missing files in the coalgate scam, today took a step forward with MoS for parliamentary affairs Rajeev Shukla saying that while Coal Miinister Sriprakash Jaiwal will reply to the BJP's charges, the prime minister -- who was coal minister when the questionable allotments were made -- may also intervene. With this the BJP backed off from its protests and the Rajya Sabha could function normally. No time has been mentioned so far about when the minister will make his statement.
