Just in: Raghuram Rajan appointed as next RBI governor. Rajan, the top adviser in the finance ministry since last year and a former International Monetary Fund chief economist, will succeed incumbent D Subbarao. Subbarao's term at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is due to expire in September.
