Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi released from jail
September 12, 2012
Cartoonist Aseem Trivedi has been released from Mumbai's Arthur Road jail. Trivedi, who was facing sedition charges, was granted bail by the
Bombay high court yesterday. The Kanpur-based artist was initially reluctant to come
out of jail unless all charges leveled against him are dropped.
However,
since state home minister RR Patil has promised to get the sedition
charge dropped and to show respect to the court Trivedi has decided to
come out of jail.,
