The incident happened as Romney arrived at a security checkpoint before entering the White House complex for his first meeting with President Barack Obama since the end of their bitter election campaign.

"An individual interfered with a motorcade as it was entering a checkpoint at the White House," said Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary.
