Several of Sydney's famous beaches, including Bondi, are closed to swimmers on Wednesday as red algae covers waters. Experts say the noctiluca algae can cause a rash on sensitive skin and depletes oxygen levels in the water, which can kill fish. It is thought to have been caused by a sudden rise in water temperature and humidity. Read
